So you don't have to pay a tax/fee for silencers or SBRs but you still have to register them? (gun supporter but not an owner - sincere question)
That is correct. That said, there is a lawsuit to get that aspect overturned also. The whole legal justification for registering them was based on the tax. Now that there is no tax, there is not legal justification for the registration.
